Poker Bonus and
Download
Don't know what poker room to
choose? We show you where to sign-up and what poker room to
download. Huge sign-up poker bonuses.
After choosing a poker you want to try, the first place you
go is the home page. The largest section is usually a link to
download their software. Most sites, if you are not blocking
them, will have a pop up that asks you if you would like to
download their free software while browsing the site. If you
aren’t familiar with the site layout, and odds are you want be
at that point, it’s a good option. For some dial up users this
obviously makes your computer’s reaction time slower than
normal so if you are in a hurry, just click on the download now
link and make yourself a sandwich. Broadband users will most
likely not notice if they software is downloading as they look
around. Most sites on high speed connection take less than a
minute to load and about the same time to install.
Once installed, a shortcut to the poker site lobby is added
to your desk top. Almost all sites, during the process of
installation, have also placed a shortcut for the installation
process. Once you have downloaded the software, you can delete
the short cut for the installation. This will not affect the
poker site lobby short cut. Even if you accidentally delete
them both, the program will still be there on the start up menu
or on your control panel. You can access the site from there.
Just like all other deleted items, the short cut is really in
the recycle bin so you can go there and restore it if you wish.
For easy access to the site, especially if you plan to play
there on a regular basis, keep the site short cut on the desk
top.
Almost all poker sites will require you to download their
software to play at their tables. The biggest concern people
have with this is disk space. With poker room software, the
average size of the software file is around 5 mega bites give
or take 1 or 2 mega bites depending on the site. Newer model
PCs and notebooks can handle this without you even noticing.
There are, however, a few sites that have no download play.
This is a great option for people that travel a lot and want to
get onto the tables. You may also want to play on your lunch
break at work but don’t want to install and uninstall the
program each time you play (most bosses don’t like the idea of
you playing poker on the company’s computer; you have to be
above middle management to get away with that).
It’s always best to use your own computer for online play,
many reasons, but for beginners, you have enough factors in
choosing a site to play and learn on, worrying about download
verses no download should not be a concern at this point.
Once you have downloaded the software, you will be asked to
register. If this doesn’t automatically happen, don’t panic.
When you activate the site, the lobby will come up and
undersign in you will be asked if you want to register a new
account. The directions are self explanatory for registration
and about the only thing required is a valid email account.
Other than that, the basic name address phone number page will
be there for you to fill out but not always required. If you
are unsure about the site, simply give the minimum information
they request, you can always update your information at a later
time. At the end of registration, you will be asked to choose a
user name and password. Just like with your email account, make
it something you can remember. Be a little cautious with your
user name selection as it will be what everyone on the site
will see and call you so unless you want to forever be known as
booboohead316, don’t type it in. Your password, of course
should be easy for you to remember but not something obvious.
If you’re going to be playing for money, you don’t want people
getting access to your account.
Most sites at this point will ask you to register a real
money account. You can do this by filling out step by step
forms that ask again for basic information. This is not
something to worry about because 99.9% of poker sites are not
going to require you to make a deposit at this point or ever if
you don’t want to. You will find that you will have a Real
Money account now and a Fun money account. Surf the site, play
some games with the fun money, it is rechargeable so if you
lose it all you can get more. The biggest restrictions on Fun
Money is the number of reloads allowed in a certain time
period, usually 3 and hour but some are 3 per day max. Use the
Fun Money to get a feel for the site. Enjoy the game and if for
some reason you decide you don’t like the site, simply
uninstall it
