What is high/low poker?

A High/Low Poker game is typically either a game of Seven Card Stud or Omaha Poker. High/Low means that the pot is split equally between the best poker hand and the best low hand. Most High/Low games are played such that an 8 or lower low hand, a hand in which the highest card is, at most, an 8, is required to qualify for the low half of the pot. If no hand in the showdown is an 8 or lower hand, then the best high Poker hand wins the pot.

The most popular High/Low games are Omaha High/Low and Seven Card Stud High/Lo.
